Microsoft pushes out new Surface UEFI and Firmware October updates

Microsoft is releasing new firmware updates for the Surface Book (and presumably Surface Pro 4) starting today on October 27. We checked two of our machines – one on Release Preview, the other on Fast Ring – for the updates and both are receiving an assortment of firmware and driver updates.
Here is what we have spotted when checking Windows Update:
  • Driver update for Marvel AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter
  • Driver update for Surface DTX (Surface Book only)
  • Driver update for Surface System Aggregator Firmware
  • Driver update for Surface Embedded Controller Firmware
  • Driver update for Surface UEFI
Some of these changes may be general fixes and improvements, while others may be related to current or forthcoming changes in Windows 10 including Redstone 2 aka "Creators Update" due early next year.
This is the first batch of firmware and driver updates since the end of August.
Microsoft has not posted the changelog just yet, but they usually do in the following 24 to 36 hours, and we'll run a second article once that happens with more details.
