In London? Get your hands on the Microsoft HoloLens this weekend

Microsoft’s HoloLens remains a one-of-a-kind device, being the only commercial mixed reality device currently on sale.
At between $3000 and $5000 per device it’s not a machine which most of us will have experienced yet, but if you are free this weekend and can make it to London you can have a hands-on with the headset at the Royal Society’s Summer Science Exhibition 2017 which runs until the 9th July this year.
Visitors will be able to interact with holograms using a HoloLens and watch it bring historic artefacts and static models to life. They will also be able to explore the science behind the HoloLens using a camera obscura and a mini version of the exhibit, and learn how the HoloLens sees through an interactive app.
Besides the HoloLens, the rest of the exhibition itself is also worth a visit. Made up of 22 exhibits, selected in a competitive process, it features cutting-edge science and research being done right now across the UK. The scientists will be at their exhibits and ready to share discoveries, show you amazing technologies and give you the chance to try things for yourself with innovative hands-on activities.
From supernova to dinosaurs, gravitational waves, corals and more, there is something to discover for everyone.
